Zara McDermott has reportedly been excluded from the upcoming ‘Love Island All Stars’ season due to her past relationship with Sam Thompson.

Sources speaking to The Sun claim that, despite Zara’s success as one of the show’s most notable alumni, ITV executives decided not to approach her for the upcoming season.

The decision is said to have stemmed from Sam’s strong connection with ITV after his ‘I’m A Celebrity’ win in 2023. “A gorgeous former Islander like Zara suddenly becoming single just before All Stars would have usually had bookers running straight to the phone,” a source explained. “But that move was immediately ruled out because of Sam’s connections at ITV.”

Sources also mentioned that there’s “no chance” of Zara being signed up, as ITV fears she could spill details about her recent breakup with Sam. The source added, “They don’t want to risk upsetting him.”

While Zara McDermott is reportedly focused on her BBC documentary work and likely would have declined an offer anyway, the exclusion from ‘Love Island All Stars’ appears final. An ITV spokesperson stated, “Any names suggested are speculation until our line-up is officially announced.” The second series will be hosted by Maya Jama in Cape Town, South Africa.
