Erika Jayne Can Still Afford Her Lavish Lifestyle

It’s been over four years since The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne filed for divorce from disgraced lawyer, Tom Girardi. As of the publication of this article, the former couple’s divorce has not been finalized. While legally separated, fans still wonder how she can afford the lavish lifestyle she often showcases on RHOBH now that Tom is not paying.

Us Weekly reported that the pair had been married for nearly 20 years. In November 2020, Erika announced that she “decided to end” her marriage to Tom “after much consideration.”

A month later, the couple were hit with a lawsuit that accused them of embezzling settlement funds worth over $15 million intended to help the families of plane victims. She claims she had no idea and left him due to his infidelities. Before their split and legal issues, Erika had lived a life of luxury, living in a Beverly Hills mansion, driving high-end cars, and wearing designer labels.

Tom, who was a high-profile lawyer, was accused of embezzling his clients’ lawsuit earnings to fund his and Erika’s huge lifestyle. The United States Attorney’s Office stated that Tom was officially charged with five counts of wire fraud, to which he pleaded not guilty.

Erika Jayne is still struggling to get on her feet after her legal issues, forced to downsize her home and stand on her own two feet. In December 2024, Erika shared, “It’ll be four years in two weeks that I left home and everything happened. In that four years, I’ve been able to accept a lot of things, heal through a lot of things, and I will continue to do that,” Erika explained on the RHOBH After Show.

Before reality TV stardom, she moved to New York to replicate the success of her idols, Madonna and Prince. On her rise to stardom, she became a go-go dancer and actress to make ends meet. Determined to make it in Hollywood, she moved to Los Angeles, where she met Tom Giraldi and pushed her career aspirations aside to be his wife.

“I got to see a lot of good things but I still wanted to create and I still wanted to be back on stage and I still wanted to do what I was made to do, which is entertain and at some point I had to acknowledge that and say this is what I’d like to do again,” she told The Daily Dish.

She started her music career at age 35, releasing her first single, “Roller Coaster,” in 2007. Her debut album, Pretty Mess, was quickly followed, produced, and co-written by a dream team that worked with Madonna, Britney Spears, and Cher. “People told me I was insane,” she told PEOPLE.

Now that Erika Jayne has moved on from her divorce, is she looking for a new relationship?

Erika Jayne was born out of rebellion. I like to break the rules.

In a 2018 Ted Talk, Erika explained how she became empowered through her persona, which “is founded on the principals of fantasy, love, escape, glitz, glamour, and fun. She is sparkles and a good time … but more importantly, this alter ego gave me a power I wouldn’t have had otherwise, to be fearless.”

In August 2023, she started a Las Vegas residency, where she appeared in 20 shows at the House of Blues. She regularly tours the US and will appear at Mighty Hoopla, a London festival, in 2025.

  • Her latest single, “Dominos,” was released in June 2024 for Pride month.

She is more than a pop singer, however. PEOPLE reported she is returning to Broadway in 2025, playing Roxie Hart in Chicago. Her initial run started on Jan. 6, 2020, and was scheduled to continue through the end of March. Sadly, her run ended early due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Original Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Housewife Camille Grammer is never one to shy away from having an opinion on her former co-stars.

According to The Sun, her extensions were panned by followers. “$700 for clip-in extensions that’s so ridiculous! I paid $300 – $400 but no way I’m spending $700.” Her extension company is still active, although she no longer promotes it and most items are discounted.

Erika Jayne’s lifestyle changed after years of being treated to a life of luxury by Tom Girardi. Although, The New York Times reported in October 2021 that Erika made $600,000 for Season 11 of RHOBH, and likely made more after. Many of her new storylines revolve around her financial struggles.

Erika confessed to having financial issues during an episode of RHOBH after being sued for $25 million in her ex-husband Tom’s fraud case. She told Kyle Richards she had “zero dollars” to her name.

I’m out here rebuilding my life, but girl, I have zero dollars. And by the time those trustees are done with him, there will be nothing… So I walk out of this with nothing.

After her split from Tom, Erika moved into a $1.5 million Spanish-style 2,000-square-foot home in Los Angeles, according to E! News. This was a huge downgrade from the 200-square-foot mansion she shared with Tom for most of their marital life, which was valued at $10.3 million.

“The house is tiny … there’s really a living room, a bedroom, and the two other bedrooms that are closets,” Erika shared on an episode of RHOBH. “I spent 20-plus years in what some people will refer to as a mansion. When I left Pasadena, I took what would fit in the house.”
