Comedian Corey Holcomb is facing accusations of punching fellow comedian Cristina Payne outside the Hollywood Improv comedy club earlier this month, following a long-standing feud.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that Payne was standing outside the club when Holcomb approached her and began yelling at her and a friend. Witnesses say Holcomb threatened to punch Payne, and a man intervened to separate the two.
According to sources, Holcomb allegedly swung over the man and punched Payne in the face. Multiple people reportedly tackled the intervening man before Holcomb fled the scene. Police officers took a battery report following the incident, but no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
Sources close to the situation indicate that the feud between Holcomb and Payne began in July, when Holcomb allegedly told others he planned to “super sock” Payne, threatening her with physical violence. Witnesses say when Holcomb confronted her again earlier this month, he taunted her, claiming he was ready for a confrontation.
While Holcomb’s team reportedly denies the allegations, claiming he didn’t hit Payne, multiple people are said to be willing to testify against him if charges are filed.
